I’m A Puzzle

I'm a puzzle I can't seem to figure out
so people tell me what I'm all about
from an endless array of options,
I made each part fit
to settle for an illusion and
to set a skit
Like a feather that went with the wind
with every whisper that blew
and every sigh of defeat,
I let it pave my way
as I search for my own gravity

a fragment of courage,
a spec of clarity,
someday, maybe

Hi everyone!

This poem is about me basically not knowing what to do or what I want in life at this time in my life. In fear and confusion of deciding for myself, I let others decide for me.. for now, at least. Until the day that I muster the courage to finally face the world head on my own head on. I wonder when that will be..

Anyway, I hope you guys liked this! Let me know your thoughts.

  1. Such a good description…still defining myself (many decades after you) but the foundation I rest on comes from Psalms 37 (the Passion Translation) – “Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes.
Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure,
    feasting on his faithfulness.
4 Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life,[b]
and he will provide for you what you desire the most.
5 Give God the right to direct your life,[c]
and as you trust him along the way
you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly!”

Even when you only see the next step in your journey, the God who loves you sees the end, the beginning and everything in between. It will be amazing!

  2. Hi, there 🙂 I enjoyed your poem…very descriptive of being in that in between place of wanting to know yourself, but not quite sure you want to be locked into just quite one thing yet. The good thing is we are all a puzzle of pieces, all coming together at different times our lives, of different traits that makes us each very unique. We all search for who we are, wondering if we’ll ever figure it out. I think you might enjoy the book I wrote about embracing our spirit within. It’s 26 pages of different reflections from A to Z. It’s easy to read, yet thought provoking (like your poem). You can read it all in one day or one page per day. I hope you’ll consider checking it out. I don’t think it tries to force you to be or choose one way or the other about yourself, but instead simply encourages consideration of where you are and want to be heading. You can find it in e-book or soft cover at http://www.amazon.com/author/virginia.alice.crawford. Either way, I wish you all the very best on your journey and discovery of who you are meant to be. Peace.
