Vincent Ehindero Award (Updated)

Good day, my dear readers!

I have been nominated yet again by another blogger award! YAY! I decided to put the nominations in one post to be more organized with what I post on my blog, and this could be the post where you can all get to know me and ask me questions about anything!

I won’t be tagging specific bloggers anymore because I just know that all of my friends here are amazing bloggers. If I have ever came across your blog, whether I’ve liked or commented on your posts, just know that I love your blog and that I nominate you for this Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award so feel free to participate!

I know that I am breaking the rules by doing this (sorry about that!) but I hope you all understand!

I was first nominated by Lynh of The Afternoon Tea Corner, for the Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award, and my second nomination is from Ishanya of the My Digital Diary. Thank you so much for this! It feels surreal to be recognized by fellow bloggers as someone worthy enough to be nominated by an award.

It genuinely warms my heart to know that someone has been reading my posts that I’ve been passionately writing and genuinely appreciated it. I still can’t wrap my head around it! I’m so grateful.

Please check out Lynh’s and Ishanya’s blog! They write about interesting articles about life, advice, and the like. They both deserve more recognition

MY RESPONSE TO THEIR QUESTIONS

1. Where are you from?

I’m from the Philippines!

2. What food do you recommend if I come to your country?

There are A LOT of yummy Filipino food! I would recommend foreigners to eat the classic Sinigang and Adobo though my personal favorite is Tinola. If you’re feeling brave, I’d dare you to eat Balut or Lechon! (It looks gross but it’s delicious!)

Adobo involves meat, seafood, or vegetables marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and black peppercorns, which is browned in oil, and simmered in the marinade. It has occasionally been considered the unofficial national dish in the Philippines.
Sinigang is a Filipino soup or stew characterized by its sour and savoury taste.

3. What is one thing you want to learn before the year 2020 ends?

As cliche as it sounds, I want to learn how to love myself fully in all my achievements and imperfections, and I really want to learn how to be more confident. That is why I am doing Project Self-Love where I answer a number of journal prompts and reflect on a lot of things about myself.

Given our current situation, I decided to make 2020 as the year for self discovery because this will probably the only time I will get to do that.

4. What song is on replay on your playlist right now?

Be the One (Remix) by Sinead Harnett ft. Col3Trane! Sinead is such an underrated R&B artist! Her voice and technique is just so beautiful, and her lyrics too UGH! *chef’s kiss*

5. What is your passion in life if you don’t have to worry about food and housing?

I would make music and do projects with my friends where we get to make various productions be it film or theater. I’d also consider being a travel blogger, that would be amazing!

6. 3-6 words to describe yourself.

I’d describe myself as introverted, ambitious, and passionate.

7. When are you your authentic self?

I always try to be my authentic self but I guess I am most authentic when I am with my friends who I trust and who fully accept me for who I am because I am comfortable enough to say and do anything around them

8. Which song do you relate with the most and why?

The first song that comes to mind is Someone’s Lady by Jessie J because I’ve always been a hopeless romantic but I’ve never experienced being in a relationship.

9. If you were to live in one country/city for the rest of your life where would it be?

I’ve always dreamed about going to Japan and Korea so I guess either of those countries would be an amazing place to live in.

10. What will your day dream look like?

I’ve actually never thought of this before but my favorite days are those where I get to spend time with my friends and family in vacation so I guess that would be my dream day. On second thought, A day where I could pursue my passion for singing and acting again would be nice too. I miss my theater days.

11. What am i most proud of?

I am most proud of conquering my fears which is why being able to perform on stage meant a lot to me. Being an introvert who is afraid of being judged, it was the hardest challenge to perform in front of a crowd and completely letting go and leaving yourself. Being able to do that and be acknowledged by my peers is my proudest moment so far.

12. If there is anything you would like to learn what would it be?

Aside from wanting to learn self-love like I’ve said from my previous post, I would really like to learn more about songwriting and poetry.

HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS TO THE PARTICIPANTS/NOMINEES

  1. What is your goal in life?
  2. What is your favorite memory?
  3. What is your favorite life lesson?
  4. What do you want to be remembered as?
  5. What is your biggest regret?

  2. Hey Fen, thanks for the compliment. In response to your answers, I have actually tried balut already, it’s a snack in Vietnam too. Before I left Vietnam, I asked my aunt to get me 10 of them. It was one of my favorite things to eat when I was young but when I get older, I become now conscious and scared of eating it πŸ˜‚. But you can’t never go wrong with chicken adobo.

I think you’ve set a good goal, I have been reading your self love blogs. They helped me too.

I’m listening to Be the One now. It’s so sultry and sexy hahaha

Always good to talk to you Fen, see you around

      1. Yeah how do Filipino eat balut. Back when I was young, we just eat it boiled with salt, pepper and lime. Now you can find fried balut or balut sauteed in tamarind juice, I’ve never tried those variations.
